Cadillac is having three new all-wheel drive crossover/SUV models in pipeline, set to arrive by the end of the decade, as per a new report from AutoGuide. Johan de Nysschen, president of Cadillac, has confirmed that five new SUVs are on their way of which, three will be totally new, one will be the next-generation Escalade and another one will be a rebadged SRX successor, according to the report.
This confirmation also hints that two of the eight all-new products that the US$12 billion investment will spawn in the next five years could be sedans/coupes. One of these eight all-new products is the Cadillac CT6 which has been unveiled at the 2015 New York International Auto Show.
The launch of five new crossover/SUV models does not mean that the luxury automaker is ready to compete with its European rivals. The president says that the company needs achieve “critical mass” in China first which can fund its hopes of becoming a global player, reveals the report.
