Cadillac has announced that the SRX successor will arrive in early 2016; strongly hinting that, like the first generation and second generation models (pictured), the successor would also debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January. Previous reports have indicated that it will be named ‘XT5’.
The new crossover can be expected to get a more expresive design with some inspiration from the sensational CT6 flagship saloon that debuted at the New York International Auto Show in April this year, though the typical boxy form-factor will remain as is. It is expected to be based on GM’s new C1XX platform, and may get the new 3.0-liter Twin Turbo V6 that was announced in March this year for the CT6.
Coming to Cadillac’s indirect announcement, the all-new crossover will also benefit from the latest CUE infotainment system featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
