The Cadillac XT5, replacement for the SRX crossover, has been snapped fully undisguised during a photoshoot in SoHo neighborhood in Lower Manhattan, New York City by a reader at Jalopnik‘s Opposite Lock forum.
The XT5 follows the design language of the flagship CT6 saloon that premiered at the New York International Auto Show in April this year. The prominent front-end makes the compact crossover look larger than it actually is, which is what compact crossover buyers generally look-out for.
The XT5 will be based on GM’s C1XX platform that is developed for GM’s future mid-size and full-size crossovers. It was speculated that like the previous two generations, the next generation model/replacement would debut at North American International Auto Show in Detroit. However, seeing here that it’s already on its promotional shoot, the debut could rather happen at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November this year, with the sales commencing early next year.
