Mercedes Benz is working on a baby SLS AMG to take on the Porsche 911, BenzInsider is reporting.
Just like its older sibling, the baby SLS premieres as a coupe followed by a convertible edition. As it comes with a much smaller footprint, power is expected to come from a naturally 5.5-liter V8 engine.

Mercedes Benz has released first images and details of the A-Class Concept that will be showcased at Auto Shanghai 2011 on April 19. The A-Class is the smallest car in the Mercedes Benz lineup and will share its platform with the next generation B-Class.

There is a possibility of the MFA platform to give rise to a compact sedan along the lines of the Ford Fiesta. There is a good chance of this model being marked for developing nations with compact and highly efficient petrol and diesel engines.

The above image is a rendering of Mercedes’s 2011 B-Class Compact MPV. The car will not be using the sandwich construction of the current model, which was characterized by a high floor, but will instead use a different platform. The Mercedes Benz SLS AMG convertible has been spotted testing. There doesn’t seem to be much of a difference visually between the SLS AMG coupe and the SLS soft-top convertible, but the convertible could get conventional doors unlike the coupe’s gull wing doors.

Mercedes Benz is currently testing the soon to be launched 2011 SLK Roadster. The 2011 SLK would soon be brought in to replace the aging 2nd generation R171 SLK which was launched way back in 2004.
