Steering News illustrator Shoeb R Kalania has brought to life Porsche’s Cayenne Junior (Cajun). Through CAR Magazine’s report we understood the Cajun will be 30mm shorter, 20mm lower and 15mm wider compared to the Audi Q5. The car will stand on 19 inch wheels and the interiors will be close to the Panamera’s. Except for the windscreen angle, firewall and roof pillar, the interiors will be completely redone.

Porsche are trying to recreate what they did with the Cayenne – SUV’s aesthetics and sports car like dynamics. To ensure the driver experience’s every bit of their effort, bespoke seats and the dashboard of the new Boxster complete with instrumentation, infotainment and the traditional offset ignition lock will be seen on the Cajun’s interior.

High-intensity LED matrix beam tail lamps will look like a jewel case on the Cajun’s rear. It borrows so many components from the Q5 like the body structure, steering, chassis, axles, steering, six and seven-speed dual clutch transmission and engines from Q5.

Engine options on Porsche Cajun

* 2.0 TFSI, 240bhp/258lb ft

* 3.0 TDI V6, 265bhp/369lb ft

* 3.0 TFSI V6, 292bhp/295lb ft

* 2.0 TDI, 190bhp/258lb ft

A Cajun Turbo S is also being worked out featuring a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 making 350bhp. A Cajun Hybrid is another variant for a later date with a 47bhp electric motor paired to a 4cyl 211bhp engine borrowed from the Q5.

Porsche is going to build the Cajun at Leipzig, the original home of the Cayenne. It is too early to predict the prices, but it should be not more than 15% over the price of the Q5.

Porsche Cajun, short form for Cayenne junior, could begin life in a production line as soon as 2013, CAR Magazine reports. Its sharp looks and (somewhat) car-like drivability will be borrowed the senior Cayenne. The Cajun will be to the Panamera what Q5 is to the Q7.

Is Porsche is moving away from producing sports cars?

Porsche’s new boss Mathias Muller believes that this car is capable of printing money for the company and boosting the sales to 50,000 units a year. There is a conflict of interest inside the boardroom as some believe the junior will eat up sales of Cayenne instead of attracting new customers. Despite stiff opposition, VW has given the green light to the Cajun for 3- and 5-door styles.

The Cajun will be constructed on the MLB kit. It will be wider than the Q5, but dimensions won’t vary dramatically.

How big is the new baby Cajun?

The Cajun will be about 30mm shorter, 20mm lower and 15mm wider than the Q5. But what really makes difference are the redesigned 19 or 20 inch wheels which give the car a very poised stance according to CAR. Interior and exterior design will be worked from scratch except for the roof pillar, the firewall and the windscreen angle.

To ensure a sports car-like driving position, the Cajun receives bespoke seats, a less steeply raked steering column and the dashboard of the new Boxster complete with instrumentation, infotainment and the traditional offset ignition lock. The substantial center stack will be similar to the Panamera.

The base model will seat 4 but a 4+1 option will also be available. The head and tail lights will be of high-intensity LED matrix beam kind. Cajun borrows the body structure, chassis, steering, axles, quattro drivetrain, six- and seven-speed dual-clutch transmissions as well as the engines from the Q5, but they will all be tuned differently.

What will drive the Porsche Cajun?

Following are the options it will get:

* 2.0 TFSI, 240bhp/258lb ft

* 3.0 TFSI V6, 292bhp/295lb ft

* 2.0 TDI, 190bhp/258lb ft

* 3.0 TDI V6, 265bhp/369lb ft

There is also a Cajun Turbo S in the works. It features Porsche’s own twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 rated at 350bhp. Also in the making is a Cajun Hybrid fitted with the same 211bhp four-cylinder-plus-47bhp-electric-motor kit as the Q5.

Other Porsche-specific tweaks will be the Sport Chrono pack with launch control, stronger brakes with optional carbon-ceramic discs and the complete exhaust system including a switchable free-flow sports muffler. The Junior is also expected to get the 3-liter 300bhp TDI unit.

Where will Porsche build the new Cajun?

Ideally the Junior would have been build alongside the Q5. But since the Bavarian plant is already running at 105% capacity, it will be built in Leipzig, the home of the Cayenne at 15% over the price of the Q5.

The volume-seeking German sports car company, after cars like the Panamera and Cayenne, is on a quest to widen its portfolio and meeting demands of new customers. It’s designing cars like invitation cards or entry passes for customers driving other European, American or Japanese cars.

The best way to begin is looking for answers internally. Smaller replicas of the Cayenne and Panamera are definite possibilities as these models have been resounding successes in Europe and America. Its pursuit is certainly not aiming for exclusivity.

Dubbed Porsche Pajun by enthusiasts, the Panamera junior will be a cocktail of Porsche trademark design touches and the key constituents of a four-door coupe’s design. Not only will the Pajun be smaller, it will also be a lot cheaper. Knowing Porsche’s future powertrain strategy, we can expect to see hybrid and electric along with petrol and diesel motors.

The Porsche Pajun will be launched by 2016 at a price tag of 60k Euros.

Last time we showed you a BMW 6 series that had been restyled to look like a Veyron & this time it is a Porsche Boxster!

Unlike the Bimmer, this replica has been done very well. Apart from the slightly long tail it is very hard to make out that beneath the body of the Bugatti lies a Porsche!

A new source from the internet reveals, Volkswagen boss Martin Winterkorn reckons a baby Cayenne might be called ‘Porsche Cajun.’

Letting the cat out of the bag In an interview with German magazine ‘Der Spiegel’, Winterkorn said “Volkswagen wants to bring more to radiate the Porsche brand - a little brother for Cayenne, the Cajun”.

Porsche Cajun is the mini Cayenne

It is expected that the Porsche Cajun will be smaller than the Porsche Cayenne, available with a 3.6-liter V6 petrol engine delivering 300 hp and capable to push the car from 0 to 100 km/hr in just 7.5 seconds. Porsche Cajun will share the platform with the Volkswagen Tiguan and the Audi Q5.

Though merely the name has been let off and the complete details are unavailable, one imagines Porsche’s approach on its new baby will be very similar to how the Cayenne was approached – with caution!

Is there a way to combine the two? I guess there is!

Here's a toy Porsche 911 that's made out of LEGO blocks. It looks very close to the real thing, it's chocolate brown color is a nice touch. The point of this car is not merely to occupy space in your showcase but for you to dismantle it and observe the working suspension of the car.

So there are people who derive pleasure out of seeing a toy car's suspension in action. Hmm..

No, this is not the plug-in hybrid 918 Spyder that is currently being tested at the Nurburgring or leaks from Porsche's design center.

Designed by a Marcus Classen, a transportation graduate from Northumbria Universty, this is a fully electric, 2-seater, roadster concept car.

The designer has taken cues from past Porsche Cars and has merged them in this concept (Yea, he forgot the windshield bit). Being fully electric, the designer has tried to keep the weight as low as possible (probably that is why the windshield is not there!).

Because the car is fully electric, it needs to pack is much less components than the traditional combustion engine, leaving a lot of room for adjustments on the design. The designer has envisaged two motors driving the rear wheels, and a centrally mounted battery pack to keep the car balanced and has added a roll-bar just in case.

These college designs make it big in the internet world but hardly catch the attention of the Auto giants. We hope that the same is not the fate of this design.

If you're a Porsche lover, then you must check out the greenest Porsche 911 in the world!

Did you think a Porsche 911 that's gone through an electric conversion is the greenest Porsche around?

Wrong.

Designer Alexander Gedda painstakingly built a 911 supercar using wooden toy blocks. His creation is no scale model, mind you. Measuring up to 14 feet in length, the wooden replica was ordered by a Porsche dealership in Milan, Italy.

No less than 6,500 wooden blocks were used in creating this one-off 911 replica. A total of 1,500 meters of wood was used in the making of the model.

It's not show and no go. There's a zipper placed on the replica which will allow you to enter the model. So how does it feel like to be inside the world's greenest Porsche? Guess you'll have to use the zipper to find out!

Porsche is said to be working on a new SUV which is smaller than the Cayenne. This new model will slot in below the Cayenne in Porsche's lineup and will be the sixth model in the Porsche family.

The new baby Cayenne will be based on the Audi Q5's MLB/MLP platform and will take on rivals such as the BMW X3 and the Mercedes-Benz GLK. The details regarding the technical specifications of the car are not available as of now, but the management at Porsche has reportedly given the car the go ahead and so it should hit showrooms in the very near future.

No, Porsche is not testing its line of farm equipment accessories on the Porsche Cayenne SUV nor is it demonstrating the prowess of the 405 hp V8 behemoth lying under its hood. The Porsche Cayenne you can see above has been put to good use by a rich flamboyant Dutch farmer who apparently wasn't satisfied with his John Deere.

The Porsche Cayenne has been fitted with a 21 feet wide sod roller at its rear and is capable of ploughing six acres of land in one straight run of 3.8 kms in less than 3 minutes. This would be the most modern practice in agriculture if only the Dutch farmer could have installed hydraulics to lower and rise the sod roller.

The Porsche Cayenne would be the baddest, fastest tractor to have ever ploughed fields on the face of Mother Earth. And if (a very big 'if') Porsche decides to launch its range of farm equipment accessories for the Cayenne, there would be a sharp increase in the number of people turning towards agriculture for living.

The Porsche Cayenne would be the baddest, fastest tractor to have ever ploughed fields on the face of Mother Earth. And if (a very big ‘if’) Porsche decides to launch its range of farm equipment accessories for the Cayenne, there would be a sharp increase in the number of people turning towards agriculture for living.
