The Chinese continue to add their personal touch to cars, the most common of which is lengthening the wheelbase. Yet again spy shots of the new Audi A6L (long wheelbase) emerge revealing new details before its launch at the Beijing auto show in April. The long wheelbase A6 is not expected to hit the showrooms before May.
The A6L is stretched by 15 centimeters providing even more space in the back.

According to reports on Chinese auto blogs, Fiat will rebadge the Dodge Dart and begin manufacturing it in China through the Guangzhou-Fiat joint venture this year. The first prototypes, thickly camouflaged, have been caught out in China by the local website PlayersChina.
Based on the C-EVO platform it shares with the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, Fiat could hijack the Linea badge for the badge-engineered [...]

Volkswagen has just introduced the latest generation Passat in China and they’ve already finished development on its little sister, dubbed Lavida (means Life in Spanish), for a launch in mid-2012.
The Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture is behind the new Lavida that will replace its predecessor introduced back in 2008. The Lavida was developed by Chinese engineers with very little input from Wolfsburg. [...]

Our friends at Auto Segredos who have broadcasted regular updates on the Palio-based Siena sedan now display pictures of the completely built cars from what looks like the factory yard at Betim. Fiat has started producing the Siena successor using the Novo Palio as a foundation.

The low cost MPV by Dacia in Romania has already been shown to you through renderings. Built on the Logan platform, the 7-8 seater will be seen for the first time in 2012. Codenamed J92, the Dacia MPV will be 4.5 meters long and arrive with the Renault-Nissan group’s 1.5-liter K9K diesel engine producing about 85 bhp.
This will be Dacia’s first shot at the MPV market.

The 2012 Fiat Panda was snapped while being assembled at the factory in Pomigliano d’Arco. The Panda supermini will be marginally longer than the current Panda but will stay well clear of the four meter mark. The design inspiration is very evident – it’s from the Novo Uno that was introduced in South America last year.

Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show back in 2008, the Chevrolet Cruze, based on the 300 Series platform, is assembled in nine locations penetrating more than 60 countries under different brands and names (Holden Cruze in Australia, Daewoo Lacetti Premiere in Korea, etc) over the last couple of years.
