Spied – Chevrolet Orlando partially camouflaged in China

Chevrolet Orlando China spyshot

The Chevrolet Orlando test mules have been doing rounds at numerous locations across the globe. This 7 seater MPV based on the same platform as the Cruze sedan is focused primarily at the European market.

Through the 300 series platform underpins the Orlando, its length has been expanded to 2,760mm. The Cruze’s 2.0L 150bhp diesel engine will be carried over and reports claim a plugin hybrid will follow soon. There will also be petrol engines on offer, a 1.6-liter and 1.8-liter/turbocharged are expected to do the job.

The spy pictures suggest that the car doesn’t look as striking as the concept did when it was first showcased at the 2008 Paris Motor show.

The car will not be sold in the American Market, but it is expected to make its European Debut in the second half of 2011.

Spied – More images of Ssangyong Korando

ssangyong c200 Korando

Noticias Automotivas reports that the Ssangyong Korando, the troubled Korean auto manufacturers next unveil, can be seen running around Seoul with no camouflage.

The latest batch of spy shots convey a very pleasing design even in the absence of studio lights and image corrections. The Korando will sit below the Actyon, NA adds.

We’re not sure what engine is under this car’s bonnet. We assume it would be either a 2.0-liter diesel or the 1.8-liter gasoline unit that was presented on the concept car at Seoul last year. The petrol engine is capable of generating 175hp, more than sufficient for a mid-size crossover.

Nothing else can be determined at this point. The availability of semi-automatic transmission or a hybrid powertrain will be clear once the owner of Ssangyong is determined.

Spied – Ssangyong Korondo C

Ssangyong Korondo C

The Ssanyong Korondo has been spied without camouflage and is in production-ready form. Based on the C200 concept revealed back in the 2008 Paris Motor Show, the Korondo’s styling is very much in-tune with what SUVs look like today.

The rear tail lamp and windshield resemble the Chevrolet Captiva’s styling. The dashboard is extremely simple and functional. You won’t have to study the manual to operate this vehicle.

The dimensions of the Ssangyong Korondo are not specified, but it looks like a compact SUV. Customers would love to have AWD option and semi-automatic transmissions. Female drivers are attracted to mini SUVs and they would like an automatic transmission in this car.

The concept car (C200 Eco) was unveiled with a 2.0 litre turbodiesel engine or 1.8 litre gasoline engine both outputting 175 hp. It debuted at the Seoul Motor Show last year and grabbed eye balls of show goers. It had green technology like start-stop system and a 340 volt battery pack and motors. Ssangyong could offer the Korondo as a hybrid SUV in the future once its owner is determined.

Spied – Mercedes SLS AMG convertible

Mercedes Benz SLS AMG convertible spied

The Mercedes Benz SLS AMG convertible has been spotted testing. There doesn’t seem to be much of a difference visually between the SLS AMG coupe and the SLS soft-top convertible, but the convertible could get conventional doors unlike the coupe’s gull wing doors.

The SLS soft-top convertible could get the SLR convertible’s powered soft-top. The underbody and suspension of the car would be tweaked to compensate for the lack of a permanent roof. The car is expected to launched by mid- 2011

Spied – 2012 Nissan GT-R facelift

2012 Nissan GT-R

Spied while testing on Germany’s famed Nurburgring Nordschleiffe track, is this face lifted version of the Nissan GT-R sportscar. There were two prototypes of the car being tested. One appeared to be the standard version, while the was the Spec-V version.

Both the cars on test possessed similar changes to their bodywork such as a new, reshaped upper grille and a new rear diffuser. As can be seen from the above image, there is a lot of camouflage hiding the other changes to the car such as flared bumper edges behind the rear wheels.

2012 Nissan GT-R

The face lifted Nissan GT-R could also come with a whole lot of other changes, such as changes to the mechanicals of the car, like the engine, transmission, suspension and steering. Nissan is expected to unveil the face lifted GT-R sometime later this year.

Spied – Fiat 500 facelift?

Fiat 500 Facelift

Spied in Poland, somewhere around Skoczow are these four Fiat 500cars, with only their front ends hidden away from people’s prying eyes. This could be a facelifted version of the car with different front headlamps, front bumper and air vents.

The rear end of the car appears to possess no changes whatsoever when compared with a regular Fiat 500.

These cars on test, with only the front ends covered, could be fitted with one of Fiat’s new Multi Air Petrol engines. The Fiat Multi Air engine range consists of 2,3 and 4-cylinder petrol engines, which are high on power, torque and fuel efficiency, while being low on emissions. Could these cars really be fitted with a Multi Air motor underneath that mask, and is Fiat about to bring out a facelifted 500 soon. Only time will tell.
