Subaru is working hard in association with Toyota on its sports car-the FT-86. The FT-86 will carry a typically Japanese design language, with futuristic elements thrown in here and there.
Spy shots reveal that an STI version is also in the works. Spy pictures also reveal the weird shape of the car from the rear, although it might just be a camouflage and not the real deal. Subaru’s are not known [...]

The Toyota FT-86 is a car that is jointly being developed by Toyota and Subaru and is scheduled for a 2012 debut. The vehicle uses many design cues from the earlier FT-HS concept.
We have details of this future sportscar – it will host a light front engine, rear drive, 4 or 5 seat coupe, with a new 2 liter Toyota-Subaru “D-4S” Boxer engine.

Looks like Toyota is working with Subaru to make a sportscar. Codenamed the FT86, it would be powered by a Subaru engine and the expected dimensions are 4250×1765×1320 with a price tag of 20,000 USDollars.
