Chevrolet makes Colorado Z71 Trail Boss 3.0 Concept for SEMA

November 3, 2015

Chevrolet will be unveiling the Colorado Z71 Trail Boss 3.0 concept at the 2015 SEMA Show. This vehicle boasts a more style and rugged attitude with Chevrolet accessories and performance parts.

The Trail Boss 3.0 concept is based on the Crew Cab 4WD model and is painted in red hot color and features sporty-looking rally stripe graphics. Additional styling touches are given by black bowtie at both ends with the front one featuring illumination, body color door handles and side mirror caps, rocker bars, cargo bed-mounted sport bar with auxiliary lighting, black fender flares, and 17-inch black-painted aluminium wheels shod with Goodyear DuraTrac 265/65 all-terrain tires. The headlamps are sleek-looking units with projector lamps.

On the inside, there are some custom touches like a brushed metal interior trim kit and stainless steel door sill plates along with concept ambient lighting. Adding functionality, are rubberized floor liners and all-weather floor mats with Z71 logo.

Mechanical changes have not been detailed. The only performance enhancements that are mentioned in the release are the air intakes and performance exhaust. Off-road ability can be gauged from the presence of a G80 automatic locking rear differential, 4WD transfer case shield and front recovery hooks.

Sandor Piszar, director of Chevrolet truck marketing says, “At its core, the Trail Boss offers owners the gear-carrying ability and versatility they need to venture off-road, with segment-leading efficiency and capability.”
