A guy in New Zealand, after crashing and overturning his car, while being heavily dunk , popped open another can of beer while waiting for rescue teams to come and pull him out. Paul Nigel Sneddon, who was three times over the legal alcohol limit, had failed to negotiate a turn and thereby crashed into a wooden barrier, causing his Ford Laser to roll over.
It seems Sneddon could not open the doors of his car and break free and thereby decided to while away the time by having another can of beer. When Police asked Sneddon as to how much alcohol he had consumed, he replied “Plenty. I’ve been drinking for the past four days.”
Sneddon went on a drinking spree after losing his job at the bakery where he was working and also having found out that his dad had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, the same day. Sneddon has been fined R5800 for his act and has also been disqualified from driving for a period of 10 months only, since this was his first such offense.
