DS 4 and DS 4 Crossback officially revealed for 2015 IAA debut

DS Automobiles has officially revealed the facelifted DS 4 and the new DS 4 Crossback ahead of their world debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show (2015 IAA). The twin offerings from the company are aimed at addressing growing customer expectations in the premium compact vehicle segment which has been growing remarkably in the recent years. The company informs that it has sold over 115,000 units worldwide since its launch in 2011, and expects the demand to grow further.

The DS 4 and the DS 4 Crossback share the company’s unique DS Wings grille along with the new DS LED Vision headlamps. The DS 4 hatchback is offered with new two-tone exterior colour scheme, with a choice of four colours for the roof and spoiler. Nine exterior paint schemes are available with three new colours being introduced – Artense Grey, Tourmaline Orange, and Platinum Grey. This means the hatchback can be had with 38 different colour combinations, making the bi-tone option of the hatchback unique in the segment.

The Crossback version is aimed to attract customers from the crossover segment seeking urban and extra urban adventure. It gets differentiated styling from the hatchback with a new versatile design with wheel arch trims, black front and rear spoilers along with grey roofbars. It also features an increase in ride height of 30 mm from the hatchback version and also sports black door mirrors, side sills and carpet mats.

Both the vehicles will feature a 7-inch infotainment system aimed to deliver a high-tech driving experience with easy access to navigation and car functions eliminating 12 buttons on the centre console. They also get new Mirror Screen technology which essentially displays the phone’s content on the larger screen of the infotainment system.

Other features like Apple CarPlay iPhone integration – a first for the PSA Group, optional Traction Control System, Blind Spot Monitoring, reversing camera and keyless entry and start will be offered. Moreover, DS Connect Box which includes SOS Assistance Pack, Monitoring Pack, Mapping Pack and Tracking Pack will be available.

The vehicles will be offered with an extensive range of engine options with outputs ranging from 120 hp to 210hp and torque output between 230 Nm and 400 Nm. The DS 4 Crossback will be launched with the PureTech 130 S&S petrol engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and the Blue HDi 120 S&S mated to 6-speed manual/EAT6 automatic transmission.
