Chinese students’ functional Electric Bugatti Veyron using cigarette packets

In order to commemorate World Anti-Smoking Day on the 31st of May, a group of five undergraduate students of China’s Xi’an University have gone on to build a low-speed, all-electric car, made entirely out of discarded cigarette packs.

The car, the shape and body of which resemble a Bugatti Veyron is made entirely out of 10,280 discarded cigarette packs.

It took the group of students eight months to meticulously put together the cigarette packs, one after another. The group of five students was helped by more than 2500 students, in the collection of discarded cigarette packs for putting together the car.

The car is the same size as that of a real car and weighs 300 kgs. To top it all off, the car is a complete, running prototype and produces no smoke whatsoever. Not sure if it can come close to the Veyron’s top speed, but as long as it gets the message out, it doesn’t bother us.

What do you reckon its top speed is? Can it match the Veyron’s top speed?
