Earlier this month, the Lotus Evora 400 that debuted at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in March, was confirmed to be offered as a roadster. Here’s an exclusive rendering of the Evora Roadster from our in-house automotive illustrator Shoeb Kalania of the upcoming drop-top.
Lotus CEO Jean-Marc Gales has revealed that the mid-engined roadster will have “twin carbon fibre roof panels that stow in the front and weigh just 3 kg each”. Both design and specifications would be identical to the coupe.
Under the hood, expect the same Toyota-sourced 3.5-litre V6 supercharged engine that offers 400 hp and 410 Nm of torque. The coupe reaches 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and hits a top speed of 300 km/h with this engine. Transmission options should also be the same 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic.
The Evora 400 coupe was originally scheduled to go on sale in USA and Canada in December but later the dates were pushed back to early 2016. The Lotus Evora Roadster version will have its world debut around September 2016, as per a report from Automobile Magazine. USA and Canada should get the convertible in H1 2017.
