Ford of Europe has announced that it has registered a 9.7% increase in total vehicle sales in the first seven months of the year, with the sales growing 5.3% (year-over-year) in the month of July alone. The vehicle sales in Europe have increased due to strong demand for the all-new and refreshed model line-up introduced by the company like the all-new Mondeo saloon, EcoSport sub-compact crossover, and the Transit range of commercial vehicles.
The total market share of the company for the first seven months in 2015 has increased by 0.1 percentage point to 8.0% with Ford managing to sell 769,300 vehicles in its 20 traditional European markets. The company sold 100,500 units in the month of July alone.
The all-new Mondeo has witnessed increased sales by 70% (year-over-year) in the month of July; while the sales of the EcoSport has increased by 164% in the same period. The company has informed that it has received nearly 7400 orders for the all-new Ford Mustang which went on-sale this summer for the first time in Europe.
The commercial vehicle sales have increased by 28% on a year-to-date basis. The market share of the company for commercial vehicles has increased by 1.7% to 12.3% on a year-to-date basis, which is the company’s best performance in almost two decades. The orders for commercial vehicles have increased by 72% (year over year) in July.
Roelant de Waard, Vice President, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford of Europe, said that new products have continued to drive the sales for the company in 2015. He went on to add that as customer awareness is increasing, products like the EcoSport and Mondeo are witnessing added demand.
