The Mercedes S-Class Coupe range has gained a new entry-level model in Germany, the S 400 4MATIC.
The S-Class Coupe S 400 4MATIC features a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine that produces 270 kW (367 PS/362 hp) and 500 Nm of torque, that is mated to a 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission.
It can reach 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, 1.0 second slower than the V8 engine-equipped S-Class Coupe S 500. The top speed though, like the entire model range, is 250 km/h. The entry-level model’s CO2 emissions is rated at 193 g/km while combined fuel economy is rated at 12.05 km/l.
The mechanicals aren’t the only compromises in the entry-level model. It also loses out on standard equipment like interior and driver’s side automatically dimming mirrors, ambient lighting, PRE-SAFE positioning function for the front passenger’s seat, and the Front Seat Memory Package which consists of four-way adjustable electric lumbar support for front passenger seat, as well as front seats, steering column, and door mirrors with electrical adjustement and memory function.
The Mercedes S-Class Coupe S 400 4MATIC is priced at €84,000 (€99,960 incl. 19% VAT).
The company hasn’t released a press release for the new model, but all details about the same are available in the price list (in German) embedded below.
