Germany: Mercedes-AMG A 45 4MATIC celebrates F1 championship

October 3, 2016

Mercedes-AMG is celebrating the F1 constructor’s and driver’s world championship as well as the runner-up titles by producing an exclusive special model called the Mercedes-AMG Petronas 2015 World Champion Edition of the A 45 4MATIC.

This special edition is instantly made special by the vinyl work on top of the silver body paint. The A 45 4Matic has been wrapped in the same petrol green and black highlight that is seen on the body of the championship-winning F1 W06 Hybrid. It doesn’t stop there. A streamlining package is also fitted that brings along a larger splitter with extra flicks and a roof spoiler. The wheels are 19-inch cross-spoke finished in titanium grey and decorated with a petrol green rim flange. Fans can opt for any one from among the available three shades which are mountain grey metallic, designo mountain grey magno and polar silver metallic.

The interior gains electronically adjustable Performance sports seats wrapped in leather/DINAMICA microfibre with a striped design and offer increased lateral support. Petrol green colour is present all around the cabin and is used in the armrests, dashboard, air vents, seat belts, and highlight strips. The Performance steering wheel is covered in DINAMICA microfibre with a 12 o’clock mark highlighted again in petrol green.

Power comes from the AMG 2.0-litre four cylinder turbo engine that pumps out 381 hp and 475 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels through the AMG Speedshift 7-speed DCT gearbox. The Mercedes-AMG A 45 does the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) dash in just 4.2 seconds.

The special edition will premiere at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in Yas Marina on 26 November 2015. It will be put into limited production from January 2016 till May 2016. The car’s price in Germany is €65,402.40.
