The GM Daewoo Alpheon was recently unveiled at the 2010 Busan International Motor Show. The Korean arm of the Detroit giant has confirmed the launch of the car in South Korea this month.
This striking looking car is essentially a rebadged Buick LaCrosse. It is based on the Epsilon II platform, the same one which forms the bases of the Opel Insignia. Currently it will come with a 3.0 V6 Engine with an output of 263 BHP mated to a 6 speed Automatic gearbox. A smaller engine will be on offer sometime later.
This car is aimed at the luxary car buyers in South Korea. It measures 4955 mm in length & has a wheelbase of 2837 mm. It oozes of luxury features such as LED Ambient lighting in the interiors, soft touch high quality materials & gloss finish panels.
The car will be priced between 36.6 million won ($ 30, 600) to 38.9 million won. Alpheon will be a brand in itself and not just a vehicle name and it will co exist with the GM-Daewoo brands.
