GM trademarks “Badlands”, could be a Ford F-150 challenger

February 24, 2015

A new report reveals that General Motors has filed an application to register the name “Badlands” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The filing number is 86535743 as on February 16 and mentions clearly that this trademark will be used for “Motor land vehicles, namely, trucks”, adds the report.

The name itself suggests that GM is readying an off-road pickup truck, and we imagine it to be a rival to the new Ford F-150 Raptor that launches next year.

The Badland name could also be used as a performance-spec trim level or for a special edition too, or it could be for Vauxhall, Opel or Holden for using in international markets.
