Jaguar is gearing up to unveil its first crossver, the Jaguar F-Pace, at the 2015 International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt in September. The company is currently busy testing prototypes of the new luxury vehicle, readying it for a 2016 market launch.
Here’s a rendering of the production Jaguar F-Pace from our sister publication IndianAutosBlog.
The car will be based on Jaguar’s aluminum-intensive iQ platform that debuted on the XE, and get powered by the 2.0-liter Ingenium engines for base variants. Higher up, the 3.0-liter supercharged V6 could be extended in two states: 340 hp for a standard variant and 380 hp for the F-Pace ‘S’ variant.
Basic four-cylinder variants will have a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the remaining variants will be equipped with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It is most likely to feature AWD standard for all markets, making use of Jaguar’s latest Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD).
Whether Jaguar will add a go-faster F-Pace ‘SVR’ variant powered by the 5.0-liter V8 supercharged engine remains to be seen.
The interior is highly reminiscent of the second generation Jaguar XF, as seen in spyshots. The three-spoke steering wheel, instrument cluster design, infotainment system, design of the air vents and other controls on the centre console are borrowed from the all-new luxury saloon.
