The 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show (2015 IAA) will rather be an important milestone in Jaguar’s 80-year history as the company will be unveiling its first production crossover F-Pace at the event. Steering up the excitement for the world debut, the company has revealed the side profile of the production-spec F-Pace. The British automaker’s first production crossover will be built at its Solihull plant in the UK and go on sale globally in 2016.
The F-Pace sports a design language that was previewed by the CX-17 Concept and will be based on the Lightweight Aluminium Architecture modular platform. It will feature a double wishbone front and an Integral Link rear suspension system which have been tested in different conditions globally to deliver enhanced driving dynamics.
The all-new F-Pace will also sport Torque Vectoring and an All Wheel Drive system (AWD) that has been inspired by the Jaguar F-Type sports car. No details have been revealed about the engines, though we expect the crossover to debut with JLR’s Ingenium four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The 3.0-litre supercharged V6 engine is also expected to be available from launch, while the range topping 5.0-litre supercharged V8 could be offered at a later stage.
Kevin Stride, Jaguar Land Rover Vehicle Line Director said that 2015 will mark Jaguar’s 80th anniversary and it has been a monumental year of transformation for the brand.
