The Kia GT concept that was unveiled at the 2011 International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt has been confirmed for production, claims a recent report from Drive.com.au. The concept vehicle was a rear-wheel drive four-door sports saloon powered by a 3.3-litre turbocharged V6 engine producing 390 hp and 534 Nm of torque, paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The report also throws light on the probability of the GT4 Stinger concept going into production. Unveiled at the 2014 North American International Auto Show, the concept car is still being considered for production but has very less chances to get the green light, as the market for its segment is not strong enough at the moment.
The company finds, says the report, that even if introduced into production, it won’t do well even after 18 months from its launch. The sports saloon on the other hand, is a more secure investment because of its segment strength.
The company will soon make an official announcement for the production version of the GT concept, says Drive.
