Reports claims that Lamborghini is working on a new hypercar that will be highly exclusive due to a limited production run. According to French publication TF1, the secret hypercar will be named ‘Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4’, and will celebrate the centenary of Ferruccio Lamborghini, the founder of the Italian automaker.
The Centenario LP 770-4 will be powered by a 770 hp 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine, as per the report. It will be equipped with an AWD system, and capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in 2.7 seconds, before hitting a top speed in excess of 350 km/h.
An earlier report says that only 20 units of the Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4 will be built and priced around US$1.2 million, and so, it won’t be as rare as the Veneno (Only 3 Veneno coupes and 9 Veneno Roadsters exist). The same strategy, like with Veneno, will help the Volkswagen Group-owned company in both branding as well as stretching the engineers’ capabilities beyond the regular models.
Both aforementioned reports, if clubbed, suggest that the Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4 will have its world debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March.
