Lamborghini has launched the rear-wheel drive model of the called the Huracan LP 580-2. The rear-wheel drive model has been launched just a year after the all-wheel drive Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 reached the market. The body has been given some revisions at the front and back. The front air intakes have been redesigned to increase down air pressure on the front axle. The rear diffuser works in conjunction with the rear lip spoiler to improve airflow under the body.
The other visual distinction that gives away the rear- from the all-wheel drive is the smaller 19-inch Kari rims that are wrapped in Pirelli PZero tyres exclusively developed for this model. The weight distribution is now biased towards the rear with a ratio of 40:60. The weight is also lighter by 33 kg than the all-wheel drive model and now stands at 1,389 kg.
The Lamborghini Huracan RWD is available with the full range of Huracán external, internal colors and trims. The cabin is endowed with Lamborghini Infotainment System II which comes with a 12.3-inch high resolution TFT instrument panel. Limitless customisation options are available for those who want it through Lamborghini’s Ad Personam personalisation program.
The Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2 draws power from the same 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine. This unit has been detuned to deliver 580 hp (426 kW) and 540 Nm of peak torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through the same 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Performance is bombastic, 0-62 mph (100 km/h) comes in just 3.4 seconds and top speed is 199 mph (320 km/h). The engine also features cylinder deactivation and has fuel economy and CO2 emissions figures of 8.40 km/l (in combined cycle) and 278 g/km respectively.
