Lamborghini has announced that the Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder will make its world debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show (2015 IAA) on September 15.
Lamborghini has not revealed specifications of the open top variant, but it is expected to share the powertrain from its coupe cousin. This means the Spyder will feature the 5.2-litre V10 engine that puts out 601 hp and 560 Nm of torque.
The acceleration of the Spyder is also expected to be similar to the coupe version. The Huracan coupe accelerates from a standstill to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.2 seconds and goes on to achieve 124 mph (200 km/h) in 9.9 seconds. The coupe has a top speed of 202 mph (325 km/h).
The hybrid aluminium/carbon fibre frame will feature strengthening to accommodate the open top design. The weight is also expected to be similar to the coupe, however extra strengthening of the frame could add weight, meaning a mildly slower car, if the coupe’s specifications are maintained. The Huracan Spyder is expected to feature a similar folding soft-top roof design that was seen in the Gallardo Spyder.
