According to a report by Motor Trend, a new Lamborghini hypercar will be showcased to serious Lamborghini collectors privately at the upcoming Pebble Beach car week that opens on August 12.
Not much is known about this mysterious Lamborghini, not even the name. However like the Lamborghini Veneno and the Reventon, it is expected that the hypercar could be made in very small numbers lending it utmost exclusivity, and an astronomical price tag.
Sources close to the publication indicate that only 20 coupes and 10 roadsters of the hypercar could be built. Something similar was seen earlier with the Veneno in which 9 drop tops and 4 hard tops were built, bringing the total volume to just 13.
The Reventon also received the ultra-premium status with a low production of 36 units, of which 21 were coupes and 15 were roadsters.
The new hypercar is set to be based on the Lamborghini Aventador SV LP750-4 and will produce around 800 horsepower, up from the Aventador’s 741 horsepower output. It is also said to feature a lower kerb weight and be more aerodynamic than the supercar it will be based on.
The price of the new Lamborghini hypercar is set to be in the high seven figure mark with the publication estimating it to cost at least $2 million. The Veneno had crossed the $4.5 million mark while the Reventon was priced at $1.5 million dollars.
When contacted by the publication, Lamborghini denied any such developments.
