The Italian media is reporting that the Lamborghini Urus has been approved for production. Citing undisclosed sources, a Quattroruote report suggests that Lamborghini has reached a deal with the Italian government for domestic production of the crossover. The new report matches the information revealed by a report from earlier this month, which said that Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi’s government is negotiating incentives with the company for luring it to build the vehicle locally.
This does not, in anyway, confirm the vehicle’s production. However, production approval can be said to be very near now.
Speaking to the Italian publication at Audi’s CES Asia 2015 event today, Luca De Meo, Board Member for Sales and Marketing at Audi AG, indicated that the Urus is likely to be confirmed for production by summer. This statement also, is concurrent with claims made by another previous report which said that production approval for the Lamborghini Urus would be received by June-end.
Mr. Meo expressed his confidence in the vehicle’s expected production approval saying that the vehicle has received great interest.
