According to a new report from Car And Driver, Land Rover’s SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) division is planning to offer more offroad capable models under a new SVX sub-brand. SVO already offers performance-oriented models under the SVR sub-brand and more luxurious models under the SVAutobiography sub-brand. The third sub-brand SVX, unlike the SVR and probably SVAutobiography, will be exclusive to Land Rover vehicles, as per the report.
With the SVX models, Land Rover will take its USP of excellent offroad capability even higher. The SVX sub-brand could offer extreme off-road vehicles like the Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6×6 or the Bowler Wildcat, indicates the report. No details are available on when the division will start offering SVX models but the next generation Defender could be the one to start with. However, given the reincarnated Defender is up to 3 years away from its market launch, the flagship Range Rover may be the first to be offered with the SVX model.
