A report from last month said that Alpine was going to debut a new sports car concept at the 24 Hours of Le Mans at the Circuit de la Sarthe, Le Mans, France this month. Going with this report, a new announcement from Renault Group itself teases that a surprise reveal will take place at the said location on 13 June 2015. The concept car is expected to be very close to production.
As per the aforementioned earlier report, the sports car concept to be unveiled here will be 90% production-ready. Moreover, according to this report, the Renault subsidiary is mulling a crossover too. The €600 Million greenlighted by Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn will be spent on both these vehicles. While the sports car will be an expensive brand-shaping premium offering continuing the brand’s legacy (like the Ford GT), the crossover should be a more affordable vehicle meant for volume sales.
