Lexus had revealed in a recent announcement that it will unveil a new concept model at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. A fresh report released by Motoring says that it would be a new sub-CT200 B-segment concept.
While no design details are available, it is expected to be a 5-door hatch based on the Toyota Yaris platform, with Lexus styling and character. If the new concept model is approved for production, it will be launched around 2018, after the second-generation CT, as the CT 200h will already be in the queue for a major update in the next two years.
The report also reveals that the next-generation RX crossover will be unwrapped at the 2015 New York Auto Show in April. The new RX crossover is expected to grow to include seven seats. The Japanese luxury automaker has learned that there is lots of demand for seven seat crossovers in the US market and can satisfy this demand with the new RX.
Lexus Australia is also finding a seven-seat SUV desirable for the local market and has tried lobbying for giving it a green-light for production, adds the report.
