Lexus has announced new RC 200t model with a twin-scroll turbo unit for the RC range in Europe.
The 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine develops 180 kW (241 hp) and 380 Nm of torque. Power is channeled to the rear wheels via an 8-speed Sport Direct Shift (SPDS) transmission. With the new turbocharged engine, the RC 200t can reach 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 230 km/h
The RC 200t is the fourth Lexus model to sport this engine. The “remarkably light” weighs 160 kg and delivers an average fuel economy of 13.89 km/l. The CO2 emissions figure is rated from 166 g/km.
The RC 200t will be available with the F Sport package, which the company states enhances the driving dynamics and performance of the car. It also gives a more aggressive exterior look to the car with unique 19-inch wheels.
Inside, the 200t has a more driver-centric cabin and the use of contrasting colours and materials give it an elegant look. If the customer has chosen the F Sport interior design, then he also gets perforated leather-clad steering wheel and gearshift lever, aluminium pedals and scuff plates.
The Lexus RC 200t will go on sale with the RC 300 h in Europe at the end of this year.
