The Maserati Levante, the brand’s first crossover, will be unveiled at the 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, claims a new report from Autovisie. The report says that the five-seat crossover’s price range will start at around €90,000 and go close to €200,000. The new luxury vehicle will go on sale soon after its production commences in March 2016, indicates the report.
Initially the Levante will be offered with V6 and V8 engines, with one diesel unit and two petrol units sourced from Ferrari. The V6 diesel engine will produce up to 350 hp; the base V6 petrol engine produces 450 hp, while the top-end V8 petrol engine will produce a whopping 580 hp. Four-wheel drive is standard regardless of the engine option chosen. Several reports published in March said that the CEO has confirmed that a plug-in hybrid version will also be launched, in the second half of 2017. The new crossover will be built at the FCA Group’s Mirafori plant in Turin, Italy.
