Mazda has released a teaser image of the Koeru which will be a new crossover SUV concept from the Japanese brand. The Mazda Koeru concept will be showcased at the 66th Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) to be held in September.
Koeru meaning ‘to go beyond’ or ‘exceed’ in Japanese will be an ideal name to represent its latest concept Mazda believes. Featuring the latest design inspiration from the manufacturer’s Kodo Soul of Motion Design language, the design of the concept radiates the power and dignity of a predator says the company.
The Koeru Concept features a tipped forward stance and a low slung roofline. The standard fare typically seen on concepts like bulging fenders and large wheels also make an appearance. The front features slender headlamps along with the large grille and air intakes while the rear gets a short overhang.
Mazda could be considering offering a rival to the BMW X4 and the recently launched Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe in a segment which is steadily gathering momentum. However, it remains to be seen if the Koeru Concept could go into production.
Along with the Koeru Concept Mazda will display its new generation line-up of models like the MX-5 amongst others featuring different SKYACTIV powertrains.
