Mazda has announced that it will be bringing two concepts based on the fourth generation Mazda MX5 at 2015 SEMA Show – Mazda MX-5 Spyder Concept and Mazda MX-5 Speedster Concept.
Mazda says that the MX-5 Spyder Concept captures the essence of the vintage into a modern design. The company is not slipping many details for now; the only thing known is that the exterior will feature a mercury silver concept paint color as seen in one half (right side) of the photo. The interior will be having a premium feel with bespoke leather interior details that are “painstakingly crafted.” The other detail noticeable is a brown soft top.
The other half (left side) of the picture is of the Mazda MX-5 Speedster Concept. Mazda says that this concept is an “uncompromised approach to wind-in-the-hair driving”, as it has completely done away with the traditional windshield for a lighter wind deflector. The MX-5 Speedster Concept pays homage to the minimalist roadsters of the 1950s and has a Blue Ether paintjob.
Both the concepts are “significantly” lighter than the production MX-5. That’s all the details that have been divulged as of now. There is a possibility that out of these two concepts, the MX-5 Spyder Concept may be launched in the market someday.
