Mazda has announced that it will unveil a new sports car concept at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show that opens on 28 October (30 October for public) and runs till 8 November. The company has released a teaser image of the sports car concept that doesn’t reveal much, except a long hood, a steeply raked windscreen and a low sweeping roof.
Editing the original image with a few tweaks resulted in the image below which hints that the there may be a dual exhaust system with chrome-finished, circular-shaped single tailpipe on both sides. Mazda says that the concept car goes with its this year’s theme at the Japanese motor show – “Accelerate toward our dreams”.
The concept’s designers “strove to condense the company’s sports car history to as great a degree as possible into this concept”, and so, the concept should borrow cues from the company’s previous sports cars. The new sports car concept will be unveiled on 28 October. To go with the racing spirit, the company will also showcase two racing-spec Mazda MX-5s and the legendary 1967 Mazda Cosmo Sport 110S which was its first rotary powered mass-production model.
The Tokyo Motor Show this year will host the Japanese premiere of the Mazda Koeru concept that was unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this month.
