Mazda has announced the new Mazda2 Sport Black Special Edition in the UK. It will be based on the SE-L Nav trim level and will offer styling upgrades and additional personalising options. The special edition will be available at dealerships from the 1st of September.
The special edition will be offered in two free-of-charge paint schemes- Snowflake White Pearlescent and Soul Red Metallic. The sport black special edition also gets front and side skirts and roof spoiler in Brilliant Black designed to contrast with the exterior paint scheme.
Additional personalisation is offered to the buyers with two optional exterior graphics- KODO and Race. The KODO graphic extends from the headlamps to the taillamps alongside the car intersecting in the middle. The Race graphic offers a sporty look positioned lower down near the sills. Additionally, the special edition can be specified with contrast look rear view mirrors – Soul Red mirrors on White exteriors and Brilliant Black mirrors on Soul Red exterior paint scheme.
As the special edition is based on the SE-L Nav trim, it gets features like Mazda’s Multimedia System with a 7-inch colour touchscreen, DAB radio, Integrated Navigation with 3-year European map updates, Bluetooth, Multimedia Commander and privacy glass rear and side windows.
It also adds driver assistance systems like Smart City Brake Support, Lane departure Warning and rear parking sensors along with rain sensing wipers and dusk sensing headlamps. It also features 16-inch Gunmetal alloy wheels and a chrome tipped exhaust pipe.
The special edition will be powered by a 1.5-litre SKYACTIV-G petrol engine that produces 90 PS (88 hp) of power at 6,000 rpm and 148 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. It will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Fuel economy (combined) and CO2 emissions figures are rated at 62.8 mpg (22.23 km/l) and 105 g/km respectively.
