New spyshots have surfaced on the web, giving the first look at what seems to be a fully camouflaged Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series. According to Autoexpress, the Black Series variant will be more track-focused, and debut in late-2016. Like the label explains, the supercar can be expected to be more aggressively styled, powerful, aerodynamic and agile. The company introduces the Black Series variant usually when a Mercedes is closer to the end of its lifecycle than to its beginning. Interestingly, this won’t be the case with the GT.
The spyshots show aerodynamic and styling enhancements like a new front-splitter, enlargement of front air intakes and addition of air intakes on the hood. The current range of this supercar includes two variants – (standard) GT and GT S, where GT S is more powerful of the two. The AMG GT’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine produces 503 hp and 650 Nm of torque, and pushes the car from rest to a speed of 60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.9 seconds. The Black Series variant will most likely feature this same engine, but will be more powerful and faster.
