Mercedes has announced that the E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet will be available in two new special editions – ‘V8 Edition’ and ‘Sport Edition’ by the beginning of Autumn. In addition to the special edition models, Mercedes will be upgrading all its coupe and cabriolet models to feature Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink along with Live Traffic Information.
The new Sport Edition E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet features exterior enhancements including a bold front apron with large air intakes, radiator trim in gloss black with chrome inserts, Sport edition badges on the wings and 18-inch light AMG alloy wheels. The rear adds AMG lip spoiler in body colour along with a diffuser-look rear apron and twin exhausts with trapezoidal tips. A Brilliant Blue Metallic paint scheme will be offered exclusively in the special edition.
The interior of the Sport Edition features multicontour seats in black leather and contrast stitching in Linarite Blue or Alpaca Grey. The seats can also be optioned with Black or Natural Beige colour scheme in Nappa leather. The cabin features the incorporation of cross grain bright aluminium trim, but customers can specify high gloss black ash, dark textured-grain aluminium or black piano lacquer trim inserts as an option for added customization.
The special edition features a three spoke steering wheel trimmed in Nappa leather along with silver shift paddles, black velour floor mats and sports pedals with a brushed stainless steel finish. The Sport Edition can be specified with any of the engines that are currently available on the E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet range and costs an additional €4367.
The ‘V8 Edition’ will be based on the E 500 Coupe and the E 500 Cabriolet that are powered by the 408 hp V8 engine. The exterior features mild updates along with the addition of ‘V8 Edition’ badging and exclusive 19-inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels sporting a titanium grey paint scheme. It can be specified in special exterior colour – Selenite Grey Metallic or Designo Diamond White. AGILITY CONTROL sports suspension setup is standard.
The interior features Nappa leather upholstery which can be had in Porcelain or Classic Red colour scheme with black contrast stitching. The door pads and armrest also get the same treatment, while the dashboard and the centre console is finished in black Nappa leather. Other features include THERMOTRONIC three zone climate control with an activated charcoal filter, V8 Edition lettering, updated infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink integration and black edged Velour mats with contrast stitching. The V8 special edition package is priced at €7973.
