The Mini Superleggera Vision concept has been confirmed to evolve into a production version, reveals a fresh report from Car Magazine. The concept was first shown at Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2014 in Milan and later also at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. The roadster concept combines traditional coachwork craftsmanship of the classic Mini vehicles and the modern design styling of the brand. It reiterates the brand’s original design philosophy – ‘reduction to the essentials’.
The concept version will be modified for production but won’t lose the original character, says the report. The report also says that the company is interested in offering a plug-in hybrid powertrain on the roadster as per the report, but nothing is confirmed as of now.
The two-seater soft-top is likely to share its underpinnings with the current model range which are based on modular front- and all-wheel drive FAAR architecture, adds the report. The classic-style inspired modern Mini roadster is set to go into production in early 2018, as per the report.
