Mitsubishi has announced that the Mitsubishi Concept GC–PHEV which was unveiled to the world for the first time at the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show will have its North American debut at the Chicago Auto Show this year. The company brands this concept as ‘return of a legend’, which hints that the concept is likely to evolve into the next-generation Pajero/Montero in the near future.
The Concept GC-PHEV’s powertrain comprises a 250 kW (335 hp) supercharged 3.0-liter V6 supercharged MIVEC gasoline engine, a 70 kW electric motor and a 12 kWh battery installed under the floor. The powertrain is paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The full-time 4WD concept PHEV has a driving range of around 40 km on electric mode.
The Mitsubishi Concept GC–PHEV will debut at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show on February 12.
