The classic Alfa Romeo Giulia is coming back after over three decades of absence in the market. The Italian sports saloon will sit in the D-segment and reportedly have the level of performance that exceeds that of the current segment rulers Audi A4, BMW 3-Series and the Mercedes C-Class.
Now a new report from Actu Moteurs suggests that two of the engine options to be offered on the car will include a 1.8-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder petrol engine and a 3.0-litre (twin-turbo) V6 petrol engine. The 1.8-litre mill will produce 300 hp, while the larger one will produce almost 500 hp. Drivetrain choices will include rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.
According to an earlier report, the new D-segment contender will also be sold in the U.S. The sports saloon will go on sale in the States in Q1 2016. This report indicates that the company has planned high-performance variants also.
The modern-day Giulia will debut in Milan on 24 June 2015 – celebrating the Italian automaker’s 105th birthday. Going with the brand’s tradition, this one will also be a pure Made-in-Italy vehicle.
