The Alfa Romeo Giulia is going to be unveiled today in Milan, Italy. First images of the luxury sport sedan has already leaked ahead of its unveiling, and now new details about it are revealed by Automotive News. According to the publication’s report, the sedan’s range-topping (high-performance) version will be named ‘Giulia Quadrifoglio’. It will go head to head with the BMW M3 and the Mercedes-AMG C63. Power will come from a 510-hp 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine developed by Ferrari and also offered on the Maserati Quattroporte and Ghibli sedans.
The Giulia Quadrifoglio will be offered only with a manual transmission and the power will be sent to rear wheels, as per the report. This rules out chances of four-wheel drive being offered on the Giulia. The high-performance variant will go on sale in Europe in early 2016 and in the U.S. a few months later. Based on the company’s new rear-wheel/all-wheel-drive Giorgio platform, the sedan will also be offered with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that reportedly produces 180 hp, and diesel engines including a 3.0-litre V6 offered on FCA’s Jeep and Maserati models.
More details on the Alfa Romeo Giulia will be available following its unveiling today.
