The Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club (ADAC) of Germany has just finished conducting an extensive test covering 241 cars of different makes and models in order to determine the most important question on every car buyers mind when choosing a car – What’s the most fuel efficient car I can buy?

The test was conducted on the 241 cars with the objective of determining which car could travel the farthest on €30 (Approx. USD $36) worth of gas. The tests on the cars were conducted in real world conditions in order to determine the actual fuel efficiency of all the car models.

The test included cars powered by various fuel sources such as Petrol, Diesel, Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG), Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Biofuels.

The results of the tests conducted by ADAC are out, we can reveal that the Fiat Panda Natural Power, a car powered by the combination of a petrol engine along with with CNG has topped the test by traveling 724 kilometers (~450 miles) on €30 worth of CNG. If one starts to calculate the running costs of the car, it translates to an astounding 8 cents per mile.

The ADAC took the average price to be €0.94 per kg for the CNG in the calculations (as depicted below), which results in a fuel efficiency figure of 22.7 km (14.1 miles), for the Fiat Panda Natural Power.

So, if you live in Europe and if fuel efficiency is the top priority and of utmost importance for you while buying a car, go get yourself a Fiat Panda Natural Power, starting from around €14,000 (~$16,700).
