The new Hyundai i10 will be unveiled in India on the 23rd of September (made official by Hyundai India on Indian Autos Blog) a full week ahead of the Paris Motor Show. It will be launched in India (one of its biggest markets) with a VTVT (variable valve timing) equipped 1.2-liter Kappa engine. Presently, the i10 is offered with a 1.1-liter Epsilon engine and a 1.2 Kappa without variable valve timing.
The engine that will be unveiled on the facelifted i10 at the Paris Motor Show is a 1.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces less than 100g/km of carbon dioxide. This vehicle is for UK where tail pipe emissions determine how much you pay as taxes and a sub 100g/km means you have to pay no tax. It will be Euro 5 compliant and will replace the 1.1-liter engine, which will continue to run in markets like India.
The new i10 has received a aggressive front-end. It’s so much like the 2011 Avante/Elantra which has just gone on sale in Korea that massively uses Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture design philosophy. The grill features a larger Hyundai badge deeper air scoops and taller radiator grille will ensure this little Hyundai will mark a bigger presence on the roads.
The i10′s side profile remain largely the same and the rear gets a new stop light and lamps embedded in the bumper. The interiors remain largely unchanged. The new i10 will be sold with a 4-speed AT as well.
