Nissan is now the best selling Asian brand in Europe. Deliveries have increased from 368,314 units to 384,726 cars, representing a 4.3 percent increase in sales compared to last year. The second generation Qashqai and the Nissan Leaf have emerged to be popular, helping Nissan to overtake Toyota.
The Qashqai alone sold 101,579 units in the first five months of the year. The company has achieved a hike in sales in countries such as UK (+34 percent), Spain (+18 percent) and Germany (+11 percent) compared to the previous year. This has resulted in the market share of the company increasing to 4.2 percent in Europe.
This success comes after the previous year’s achievement wherein Nissan Europe recorded its highest volume and market share. Nissan Europe Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Guillaume Cartier, stated “We will continue to challenge ourselves to bring more to our customers – more choice, more value and more innovations and exciting products”.
Nissan is positive to have a successful second half of the year. The European sales figures are excluding countries like Russia and Ukraine.
