Following number of reports saying that the China-made Buick Envision is set to hit North America, GM has made the news official. The company has announced that the Buick Envision will go on sale in U.S. and Canada in 2016. The crossover has been given some market-specific tweaks, but is basically the same in appearance.
The 2016 Buick Envision will be exclusively powered by a 2.0-liter Ecotec turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 252 hp (186 kW) and 260 lb.-ft. (353 Nm) of torque. The output figures are not final though. The engine will be exclusively linked to Hydra-Matic 6T70 6-speed automatic transmission. Power will be distributed to the wheels via Active Twin Clutch all-wheel-drive system. Performance figures are yet to be announced.
Noteworthy exterior features include LED daytime running lights, active upper grille shutters, 19-inch aluminum wheels, panoramic moonroof, programmable power liftgate, and LED accents for tail lamps. Interior features include IntelliLink infotainment system with 8-inch colour touch screen display, heated front seats, heated rear seats and heated steering wheel, tri-zone climate control with rear-seat controls and console mounted rear vents and Bose sound system. Safety and assistance features include Safety Alert Seat, Lane Keep Assist, Automatic Park Assist and Surround Vision 360-degree camera system.
