The Opel Manta was a classic sports coupe that was released in 1970. It had a life of two generations, after which, it was replaced by the the Opel Calibra in 1989.
Almost three decades after its production ceased in 1988, Opel is considering a successor for it, as per a report from Autovisie.
When asked by the Dutch publication if such a successor is being considered, Opel CEO Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann, first didn’t say yes, but then later did reveal that the company is looking at such a model seriously.
This is no confirmation to a modern-day Manta or Calibra, but it’s at least, an indication that the company is mulling a two-door sports car seriously.
