Two brand new Peugeot cars will be unveiled at this year’s Goodwood Moving Motor Show on Thursday, 25 June. A 308 performance model will have its world premiere here. The 308 R HYbrid that was unveiled at Auto Shanghai in April this year, will have its European debut here. The 308 performance model having its world premiere here is expected to be the 308 GTi. It is likely to sport a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with power output figure of somewhere around 270 hp.
The 308 R HYbrid concept is an extreme 500-hp version of the 308 hatchback. It packs a plug-in hybrid powertrain that comprises a 1.6-litre THP 270 S&S petrol engine and two electric motors generating 115 hp each. The system produces 500 hp and 730 Nm of torque. The super-hatch can reach 0-100 km/h in just 4.0 seconds and hit a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h) which is electronically limited. The company’s CEO Maxime Picat hinted just weeks after the concept’s unveiling that it is most likely going into production.
