Peugeot has announced that it will premiere two performance oriented models along with a new concept vehicle at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) in September. The French automaker will debut the 308 GTi and 308 R HYbrid concept along with a new ‘dynamic and authentic concept’ vehicle.
The Peugeot stand will also include regular models including the 108, 208, 308, 508 and RCZ along with people-carriers like the 2008, 3008, 5008, Partner Tepee and Expert Tepee.
The 308 R HYbrid concept is based on the 308 hatchback and has its system output figures rated at 500 hp and 730 Nm of torque. It sports a plug-in hybrid powertrain that includes a 1.6 litre petrol engine and two electric motors generating 115 hp (85 kW) each. It can accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds and achieve a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h) which is electronically limited. The 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show (2015 IAA) will mark the concept car’s European debut.
Peugeot Sport has developed the new 308 GTi to be a compact and sporty hatchback delivering punchy performance for driving pleasure. This vision has clearly been incorporated in every aspect of the car.
The 308 GTi features a special vertical suspension at the front that has been specially designed with stiffer springs and calibrated shock absorbers with hydraulic stop to deliver precise handling. The car also gets an adjustable chassis, a high-pressure injection engine and a Torsen limited-slip differential. It can accelerate from standstill to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6 seconds flat.
