The fifth generation Renault Espace that was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October last year has been spied testing in South Korea by an uploader of BobaeDream. South Korea is an important Asian market for Renault and it has a strong business there.
If launched, the Renault Epsace will take on the popular Kia Carnival that dominates the MPV market, targeting customers between the age of 35 and 44. With a model range including three seating configurations – 7-, 9- and 11-seat, it’s offered with a 202-PS (199-hp) 2.2-litre turbo-diesel and a 280-PS (276-hp) 3.3-litre V6 petrol engine.
The Renault Espace is offered with 200-hp 1.6-litre turbo petrol, 130-hp 1.6-litre turbo-diesel and 160-hp turbo-diesel engines. Transmission options include 6-speed manual, 6-speed dual clutch auto and 7-speed dual clutch auto transmissions.
While the 2016 Renault Talisman was confirmed for the Korean market by a Renault top official, the Espace could be up next. The Talisman is expected locally manufactured with JV partner Samsung at the Renault Samsung Busan Plant in Busan.
