The Renault Talisman has been officially unveiled in France. The new premium saloon follows the brand’s latest design language seen on the Espace and the radical shift in the design and styling now makes Renault’s D-segment saloon no less elegant than rivals largely dominating the segment, including the VW Passat.
The Laguna- and Latitude-replacing saloon is 4.85 m long, 1.87 m wide and 1.46 m tall. It has a wheelbase of 2.81 m.
Based on the Renault Nissan Alliance’s CMF (Common Module Family) platform – CMF-C/d, the new premium saloon comes spacious with a segment-leading rear knee room of 262 mm, while the headroom figure stands at 855 mm. It offers a boot space of 608 litres.

Going with the company’s familiar engine nomenclature system, it can be said that the petrol engines (in the above order) will have power output of around 150 hp and 200 hp respectively, and the diesel engines (in the above order) will have power output of around 110 hp, 130 hp and 160 hp respectively.
The company says that the Talisman is the only contender in its segment to be offered with a combination of 4Control four-wheel steering and active damping system. Five drive modes will be available to select from – Comfort, Sport Eco, Neutral and Perso.

Noteworthy features of the new saloon include full-LED headlights, C-shaped LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, colour head-up display, ventilated and massaging front seats with 10-way adjustment function, 60/40-split rear bench seat, hands-free parking, R-Link 2 infotainment system with 7-inch horizontal/8.7-inch vertical touchscreen tablet display, Bose Surround Sound music system with 13 speakers and Multi-Sense sound and lighting ambience synchronisation setting. Alloy wheels will be available in 5 designs, with sizes ranging from 16- to 19-inch.
The Renault Talisman will go on sale first in France by the end of this year and then in other European markets. It will be available in 1 non-metallic colour – Glacier White, and 9 metallic colours – Pearlescent White, Dune Beige, Cosmos Blue, Vision Brown, Cassiopee Grey, Platine Grey, Etoile Black, Carmin Red and Amethyste Black (exclusive to Intiale Paris version).
