Rendering – Next gen Honda S2000 Roadster

Next gen Honda S2000

The Honda S2000 was discontinued by Honda in June 2009. This came as shock to many S2000 enthusiasts when Honda put an end to the S roadster which had no successor. The Front mid-engined, rear wheel drive roadster from Honda was highly acclaimed and was built to celebrate Honda’s 50th year anniversary.

With the death of the Honda S2000, Honda doesn’t have a roadster in its lineup now. The S2000 had an immense fan-following and the absence of the S2000 is being felt by Honda. Could Honda be working on the next generation S2000 then? Highly possible. The S2000 could even grow into a S3000 when the roadster is launched.

The rendering of the next gen Honda S2000 (pictured above) borrows ideas from the Honda CRZ and depicts what the next gen S roadster could look like.

The next gen Honda S#### (the integers following the ‘S’ are unknown) could also ‘Go Green’ and come only as a hybrid. If the S roadster comes as a hybrid, it would be interesting to see whether Honda would retain the rear-wheel drive of the car or make the new car a front wheel drive.
